Ok, so I’ve been MIA for a while but I am back now and with a bang I might add 🙂 So last year was crazy with home front, family and of course PatternReview. I hardly got any sewing done. But I did pick up a new hobby! Knitting is fun but it’s slow, and its good for a change but with sewing, I can actually make stuff I wear and in 45 minutes or less. Now, who wouldn’t want that?
Ok, so in December I decided that each month in 2008 I WILL sew a wearable item and to help me do this and stick to my goal, my friend Emily made a sewing plan for me! God knows that if it weren’t for her, I would have probably slipped. But now, I have my own storyboard and given the time we spent doing this, it owe it to her to to stick to it.
Ok, enough chatter, here’s the plan. I know most of the fabrics are knits but since that’s what I have most in my stash, I decided to just use those.
Since I don’t think I am ready to participate in any of the PR contests just yet, Emily designed this plan for me based on my wardrobe needs as well as the fabrics and patterns I want to use from my stash. This works perfectly for me because most of the patterns I am using in this plan are the ones I’ve tried before so it’ll be quick sewing for me, just to get me going.
I’ve also added a few patterns which I’ve been wanting to try for a while but never got to it. Now, since they are a part of my plan, I am hoping they will get used.
Emily and I get together on weekends to sew/knit. She is coming over tomorrow, so I’d better cut out my first top. I am thinking it’ll be the print knit on top left – KS 3263, since I do need some long sleeve tops. This is going to be fun!
